DAY 2 PUERTO MONTT, CHL > BARILOCHE, ARG | 220 KM
Our first day on the road takes us to the city best known to Brazilians, Bariloche. It is the most important in the region considering the Argentine side. After crossing the border, we will stop at the charming Villa La Angostura before arriving in Bariloche. We will have a few hours in the afternoon to enjoy this city on foot or take a motorbike tour along the "Circuito Chico". It is 70 km of very pleasant sightseeing.
DAY 3 BARILOCHE, ARG > FUTALEUFÚ, CHL | 358 KM
Back on the road! A long day but on very beautiful routes to the south. After our lunch, we will cross the border again into Chile and soon arrive in Futaleufú. A small town famous for rafting and full of tourists looking for adventure and views of the Carretera Austral, like us!
DAY 4 FUTALEUFÚ, CHL > LA JUNTA, CHL | 144 KM
Our first day on the Carretera Austral will be a mix of anxiety and beautiful scenery. The first few kilometers on gravel can be a bit intimidating, but with the guide's instruction, we soon get used to it and our focus is on enjoying the scenery at every turn. La Junta is a small town. Here we will rest a bit and go to sleep early to prepare for the next day.
DAY 5 LA JUNTA, CHL > COYHAIQUE, CHL | 278 KM
Another memorable day. This road will be marked by the amount (not difficulty) of gravel, although there are already many paved sections, and the paradisiacal settings obtained by traveling through the Andes mountain range. Coyhaique is the main city in the region.
DAY 6 COYHAIQUE, CHL > MARBLE CHAPELS, CHL | 216 KM
Another day with a lot of gravel and scenic landscapes. We will meet several adventurers this day and end up staying near the main attraction of the region, the "marble chapels."
DAY 7 MARBLE CHAPELS, CHL > CHILE CHICO, CHL | 170 KM
Right after waking up, we will take an excursion to the marble chapels in a small boat and then continue our last stretch on this wonderful road. We will travel all the way around General Carrera Lake to the border city of Chile with Argentina, called Chile Chico. For the most avid motorcyclists and outdoorsy types, we can even come back at the end of the day and enjoy a sunset on the lake... Who's up for it?
DAY 8 CHILE CHICO, CHL > LAGO POSADAS, ARG | 427 KM
Upon waking up, we'll cross back into Argentina and head south. Did you think the gravel road was over? Nope! We'll surprise you this day, descending Route 41 to the town of Lago Posadas. A small, "secret" town next to the mountain range. Here we'll sleep in a lodging "in the middle of nowhere". A long and unique day!
DAY 9 LAGO POSADAS, ARG > EL CALAFATE, ARG | 355 KM
Transfer day! We'll head south enjoying more kilometers of gravel. Another long day, descending the famous Route 40 to one of the main cities of Southern Patagonia, El Calafate. Here we will have at our disposal an excellent reception, a well-structured city and great gastronomy.
DAY 10 EL CALAFATE, ARG > PUERTO NATALES, CHL | 213 KM
Right after waking up, we will visit the famous Perito Moreno glacier, one of the most beautiful places you will see in your life. After lunch in the city of El Calafate, we will head towards Chile, heading south to Puerto Natales, an important city in the region that "hosts" tourists who are going to visit the Torres del Paine National Park.
DAY 11 PUERTO NATALES, CHL - TORRES DEL PAINE, CHL - FREE DAY
After intense days, we will take a break and enjoy this paradise on earth a little more. There are several hiking trails, waterfalls, viewpoints and incredible roads to ride on a motorcycle! You will have a very special afternoon here! Oh, there is also gravel to satisfy your nostalgia.
DAY 12 PUERTO NATALES, CHL > USHUAIA, ARG | 769 KM
The longest day of the trip! Good roads help (winds and borders don't). After a day of "rest", we'll leave early for this experience. We'll cross the Strait of Magellan on a ferry, cross the border and continue south through Tierra del Fuego to one of the most "desired" cities for adventurous motorcyclists, Ushuaia! Yes, you did it!
DAY 13 USHUAIA, ARG - FREE DAY
After a long day and more than 10 days of travel, we'll rest well. On this (well-deserved) free day, we'll take a boat ride on the Beagle Channel and enjoy other attractions of this city. A day to eat giant crabs!
DAY 14 USHUAIA, ARG > PUNTA ARENAS, CHL | 474 KM Ushuaia
